Missionary
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20 (NRSV)

Scott is a missionary - whether abroad or at home. Sharing the gospel message and the love of Christ is first and foremost on his mind. His purpose is to teach God’s Word and guide people into a deeper relationship with Jesus and he seeks every opportunity to do just that. His desire to serve and teach others led Scott and Julie (his wife of 19 years) to complete mission work in Zimbabwe, South Africa, Bahamas, Jamaica, Russia, Ukraine, S. Korea, India and Uganda amongst other places.

They lived in Russia for five months as missionaries, and then lived in the Ukraine for 10 months during which Scott completed an intensive study program through “The School of Biblical Studies.” They traveled for an additional five months, visiting a total of 30 countries, learning of people and their cultures. Often, they experienced desperation and lack of hope in others, revealing the importance of teaching the Gospel bringing hope to the lost. God revealed Himself to Scott in many ways during this time, solidifying Scott’s commitment to teach about Jesus. Scott continues with mission work at home, and abroad, and is presently teaching, mentoring, and serving in his church in Raleigh, North Carolina and in other communities.

“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will turn back to you.” Psalm 51:10-13 (NIV)
